Half Life Short Film
Branding and Social Media
I was commissioned to work on the branding and social media of a short film project. The client wanted her branding to better match the vision she has for her short film, in which her requirements can be boiled down to:
Memories, Dream-like, Sophisticated, Korean Drama
With her descriptions in mind, I revamped the title logo, film introduction, profile photo, crew announcements, and more to come.
Film Introduction: Utilizing the three row structure of Instagram, I made a path animation resembling a red ribbon, a key component to the short film’s plot.
Main Crew Introduction: How would one combine tangible memories together with a character? One notable way is to design a scrapbook. Dried plants, stickers, movie tickets, etc, I incorporated photos of real elements to achieve this effect. To stay on the theme of life, death, and everything in between, each member’s bucket list was written on a “receipt”.
Profile Photo: The client particularly liked an aged, paper-liked texture, and requested it for the profile photo as well. This look stays throughout. The faded heart represents the character’s life against time, and for brand consistency the title logo was also used.
