Shinsa Shikdang

Branding and Menu Design

Illustrator for icons and background, InDesign for formatting

I wanted to tackle the challenge of designing a menu for an imaginary restaurant. Settling on the concept of a retro Korean style Tonkatsu place, which was considered a “fancy” food back in the 80s, I named this restaurant
Shinsa Shikdang”, which directly translates to “Gentleman’s Restaurant”.
What is currently considered a nostalgic and relatively cheap food is taken back to it’s ”prime time”.

Combining both nostalgic bright colors and a dandy art style, here is the final product.
